March 16, 2008: The end of the line is inaccessible because of a collapse

This winter, a collapse occurred in the "Tranchée du Bois Thibault". Several large blocks of rocks fell on the way. Others threaten to do it. For reasons of safety, the mayor of Butry-on-Oise took a decree prohibiting the access to the site. Barriers close the accesses. With the Conseil Général, we considered the release and the security of the site. The cost of work is very expensive. Within the framework of our removal, the Conseil Général will not complete this work.

Consequently, for the season 2008, and the following ones, the steam trains will not roll any more beyond the street of Parmain (km 0,500). We study the installation of new animations around the Museum all while maintaining the circulation of the historical trains.

The price of the entries of the Museum (5 euros) constitutes a significant part of our operation. We hope that for this difficult period, which will as soon as possible bring us on our new site, we will be able to count on your support.

Note that on May 10, 2008, the steam train of the AJECTA, Paris-North - Creil - (Chantilly) - Creil - Paris-North, will stop in station of Valmondois for a visit of the Museum. An event which did not take place since 2002.
