Refurbfishing the coach of TDS (Abf7)

In September 1989 the box of this coach was salvaged by one of our members. At this time it was used as a summer kitchen and as a toilet in the former station of La Meilleraye, since the lock of the network in 1940, . To free it it was necessary to cut it in two parts in the sense of the length. In spite of several movements and dismantling, its restoration was begun in province. Technical imperatives imposed it to come to Butry at the end of the 90s. The reassembly began, but the priorities of the Museum delayed the work. At the beginning of the winter, the association BATIVER of Cergy-Pontoise, asked us for a construction project for 12 young people from 17 to 25 years old. We proposed them l'ABf7. It is in 4 months, supervised by professionals that they realized the complete reassembly of the coach, its ret(tm)lage (je ne sais meme pas ce que c'est en francais), the assembly of the seats and the inside and outside paintings. The decoration was realized by our President.

The coach was inaugurated on March 2, 2000 in the presence of numerous elected members and responsible of the Conseil General, the young people and those who were supervising them. Her former owner had made the trip and had difficulty recognizing her. The coach was transported to the Museum thanks to the financing of the local weekly newspaper: l'Echo Régional. We have still to make the platforms and the guardrails. We hope to put back it in traffic for our festival on September 30th and October 1st.

0.6.0T Corpet Louvet of Ille et Vilaine

In December 1999, a team of strong volunteers was organized in the early hours to assure the lifting of the machine. Our crane having an insufficient capacity of lifting, the back of the machine was placed on crossbars. The front of the machine was raised by the crane. Three axles are then placed under the frame inside the slide channels. Finally the frame came down again and boxes of axles were put in place.

The continuation of the operations will consist in restoring the water holds and most of the bronze landings. The cost of these operations is FF150,000. ). The search for patrons turned out vain. We have decided to turn to the Ministry of Culture because the machine is unscripted in the statutory list of pieces of special historic interest. A request for a subsidy is in study.

Salvage of the coach Bf256 of SE and Plans Corpet-Louvet

In December the wreck of the coach Bf256 of the Chemins de fer Economiques (SE) was offered to the MTVS. This coach at first used on the South network of the department "Nord" before joining the line "Valmondois - Marines" on November 24th, 1931. After the lock of the network in 1949, it served as house and was completed by two constructions as well as plastered. At the end of January we began the destruction of the additions in the presence of the Responsible of the Patrimony of the Val d'Oise then in training at the Museum.

News in Bref

Again in December, Mrs Bruno and Michel Corpet gave to the MTVS all the plans of Corpet-Louvet machines in their ownership. This gift represents several thousand plans of detail, execution and assembly of machines. The referencing of these archives began and will continue during several months. As soon as possible, these archives will be accessible by everyone interested in the builder of La Courneuve. Some editions were already put in hands of an association from Bar-le-Duc, which renews 0.6.0T "Suzanne du Meusien" built in 1890.

During this winter, 0.6.0T the Sarthe has started its ten-year revision. The boiler wasdismantled. Modifications were brought on the low stoppers at the base of the fire box on fire. The ratification is waited for the end of the year. Then it will be put back together and paint to find a livery corresponding to its original look found on the machine #51 recently released from the shadow.
